Privacy Policy

The Biohacking Index (“the Site”) is operated by Jack Plumley, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the Site or subscribe to the Market Brief newsletter, how it is used, and the choices you have. The Site is operated in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), and, for subscribers in the European Union, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

  • Newsletter subscription data. If you subscribe to the Market Brief, your email address is collected and stored by Beehiiv, our newsletter platform, along with standard engagement data such as whether an email was opened and which links were clicked, plus the IP address and timestamp of your signup. Subscription uses double opt-in: no email is sent until you confirm your address.
  • Basic technical data. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure may log standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, used only for operating and securing the Site.

The Site does not run advertising trackers and does not sell, rent, or trade personal information with anyone.

How your information is used

  • To deliver the newsletter you subscribed to.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Who processes your data

Jack Plumley is the data controller. Beehiiv Inc. processes newsletter data on our behalf and maintains its own GDPR-compliant data protection practices. Site hosting is provided by Vercel Inc., and score data is stored with Supabase Inc. None of these providers is permitted to use your personal information for their own purposes.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe at any time. Every issue of the Market Brief contains an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing is immediate and permanent unless you resubscribe.
  • Access, correction, and deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask that it be corrected, or ask that it be deleted, by emailing hello@biohackingindex.org. Requests are honoured within 30 days.

Data retention

Subscriber data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your address is suppressed from future mailings; you may additionally request full deletion at any time.
